The next board meeting will be held Thursday, December 10, at 7pm, at the Middle/High School Media Center. The meeting will include a Public Input Session regarding 2016-2017 budget development and immediately follows this month's Board of Education Workshop regarding the district's financial plan. The workshop, also being held in the Media Center begins at 6pm.

Cairo-Durham Central School District voters approved the district's $30,103,377 budget for the 2017-18 school year with 273 in favor and 143 opposed. Additionally, voters approved the bus proposition to allow the district to purchase five (5) school buses by 290 yes votes to 126 no votes.
In the Board of Education election, incumbents David Infantino and Stephen Brandow were re-elected to terms through 2020. A third board seat is still to be determined based on the acceptance of a write-in candidate.

A local board of education is an agency of New York State governed by NYS law and the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education. There are nine residents who serve, without pay, on the Cairo-Durham Central School District's Board of Education.
The next board workshop will be held Thursday, December 10, at 6pm, at the Middle/High School Media Center. The topic of the workshop will be a review of the district's financial plan.
