"Wait, Look and Drive 45" (Traffic Safety Public Service Announcement)
Did you know that about 85% of drivers are speeding when they pass Cairo-Durham Middle/High School? That is almost 9 out of every 10 vehicles! Despite this finding from a 2016 New York State Department of Transportation traffic study, the DOT denied the Cairo-Durham Central School District's request to install a traffic signal in front of the school on Route 145. Therefore, we are focusing on driver education and developing traffic safety campaigns to encourage safe and cautious driving.
Camp Invention is Getting Close to Goal of 35 Students!
Cairo-Durham Elementary School is pleased to offer the nationally acclaimed program beginning on July 17, 2017 with Jared Fox serving as Director of the Launch program! Fifth Grade Holds Annual "Market Day"
For the annual Market Day fundraising event at CDE, fifth graders created a variety of products to sell to students and school staff. They also had to create names for their products and "businesses" to display on their tables in the large gym. [Read more]
