There is a scheduled Emergency Early Dismissal drill on Friday, April 21. All students will be dismissed 15 minutes early. Middle/high school students will be dismissed at 2 p.m., and elementary students will be dismissed at 3:05 p.m. Please note that parents picking up students at dismissal need to be to the Middle/High School no later than 1:45 p.m. and at the Elementary School no later than 2:45 p.m.

Dear Cairo-Durham School District Families,
This letter is to remind you that due to the excessive number of snow days used this year, Cairo-Durham Central School District will be in session on April 20-21, 2017. In addition, in order to meet the 180 day "In Session" requirement, April 13th must also be changed to a full day of instruction for K-12.

The Cairo-Durham CSD Board of Education has established a Distinguished Service Award and a Mustang Excellence Award to recognize and show appreciation to individuals, groups, businesses and/or students who have worked to support public education in the Cairo-Durham Central School Community.
Our 6th grade English/Language Arts classes followed the annual Alaskan Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race during their Survival Unit, in which they selected and followed a musher (sled driver) while reading “Guts” and “Woodsong” by Gary Paulsen. The latter is an autobiographical account of Paulsen's 1983 Iditarod run. Throughout the unit, students worked on many group and individual reading and writing activities, comparing Paulsen's journey to their mushers' experiences. Learn about the exciting new middle school honors program at the CDMS Honors Informational Night on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cairo-Durham Middle School auditorium.
We recommend that parents/guardians and students in Grades 4-8 attend, though the event is open to anyone who wants to know more about honors classes at the middle school level.
Please come out and meet administrators, teachers and staff to learn more about the new middle school honors curriculum that CDMS plans to implement in the 2017-2018 school year.
