Did you know that about 85% of drivers are speeding when they pass Cairo-Durham Middle/High School? That is almost 9 out of every 10 vehicles! Despite this finding from a 2016 New York State Department of Transportation traffic study, the DOT denied the Cairo-Durham Central School District's request to install a traffic signal in front of the school on Route 145. Therefore, we are focusing on driver education and developing traffic safety campaigns to encourage safe and cautious driving.
Your schools, your voice. What should the educational environment at Cairo-Durham CSD look like beyond the year 2020? Tell us! Share your thoughts with school leaders at a Community Forum round table discussion as the district begins to develop a capital improvement plan: Tuesday, December 5, 2017 (12 p.m., Cairo Public Library)
