The School Safety Forum originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, 2018, is rescheduled for Thursday, April 19, 2018. The forum will begin at 6 p.m. in the Cairo-Durham Middle/High School Media Center.
Cairo-Durham CSD is excited to announce that the former Durham Elementary building will be the site for Questar III BOCES’ new Heavy Machinery Operation and Maintenance program. Expected to launch for the 2018-19 school year, this new Career and Technical Education program is open to high school juniors and seniors.
Did you know that about 85% of drivers are speeding when they pass Cairo-Durham Middle/High School? That is almost 9 out of every 10 vehicles! Despite this finding from a 2016 New York State Department of Transportation traffic study, the DOT denied the Cairo-Durham Central School District's request to install a traffic signal in front of the school on Route 145. Therefore, we are focusing on driver education and developing traffic safety campaigns to encourage safe and cautious driving.
Due to recent events that affected our school community, we have changed the schedule for Grades 6-8 English/Language Arts state assessments.
