Students & Staff Raise Over $800 During "Pennies for Patients"

Mr. Mitchell is "stuck" to a wall by duct tape

Being taped to a wall is a small price to pay for helping those in need!

On March 16, Cairo-Durham Middle School Principal, Mr. Mitchell, volunteered to be “stuck for a buck” to help raise money for the school’s annual Pennies for Patients fundraiser.

During lunches, middle school students and staff could donate $1 for a piece of duct tape and use it to stick Mr. Mitchell to the wall. More than $400 was collected in one afternoon.

Cairo-Durham Elementary also participates in the annual Pennies for Patients fundraiser. Overall, CDE and CDMS raised $824 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
