The Cairo-Durham Universal Pre-K Program will be holding its 9th annual Trike-a-thon on Friday, May 26, 2017. If you would like to contribute, contact Tracy MacGiffert for more information (firstname.lastname@example.org, CDE Room 107).
Since 2009, our little Pre-K program has raised over $15,000 for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital! To help each child currently enrolled in our program earn a Trike-a-Thon T-shirt, we are setting a $1,600 goal this year, with individual goals of $50.

Cairo-Durham High School senior Morgan Handel was named Business Student of the Year by her Business teacher, Heather Maassmann. Maassmann awarded the honor to Handel for her dedication and hard work throughout her years at Cairo-Durham.
The Business and Marketing Association of the Capital Region invited Handel (pictured with her parents, Jennifer Kevenvey and Dale Handel) to the Radisson Hotel for a dinner shared by 17 other students throughout the Capital Region.

The CDE Student Council is hosting its first "Pint-Size Hero" blood drive on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 2-6 p.m. in the CDE large cafeteria. This is an opportunity for elementary students to bring in a parent, grandparent, or other adult they know to donate lifesaving blood.
Prior to the blood drive, some students will be learning about the American Red Cross and Clara Barton, the pioneering founder of the organization.
