While Governor Cuomo’s recent Executive Order No. 172 gives counties and towns the ability to collect their 2018 property tax payments by the end of 2017, it does not authorize school districts to collect the 2018-19 school taxes before the adoption of next year’s budget.

The new full-day pre-kindergarten program at Cairo-Durham CSD is going well, according to teacher Katania Hall.
“I am impressed with how quickly the children have learned their morning routine of coming in, unpacking their backpacks, and going to their seats to complete their morning work,” Ms. Hall said.
The full-day program, which was launched in September 2017, was created as an alternative to the existing half-day pre-k program.
