Cairo-Durham High School’s April Student of the Month is Christopher Cherrington, a junior.
Christopher is a hard working student, enrolled in some challenging classes such as: English 11, American History, Chemistry, and Industrial Design. When asked about his success at school, he stated, “school can be hard for me but I make my way and ask my teachers questions, I stay after when I need extra help.”
It is this hard work that is leading to his success in and outside of school. His teachers echo these thoughts in describing him, “Chris has been very responsible regarding his classwork. He has been staying after without being asked and shows initiative. Having Chris in class the last three years I am pleased to see such growth. He also is very diligent about his job outside of school. He is a kind student.”
While not in school Christopher enjoys snowboarding, roller skating, and basketball. He also enjoys spending time with his family and is excited about getting his driver’s license.
Additionally, Christopher enjoys cooking, leading him towards a possible career in the culinary field. Currently he is a line chef at Glen Falls House. His peers enjoy being around him, describing him as, “funny, caring, an all around nice kid, and very loyal to his friends.”
Cairo-Durham is proud to honor students like Christopher that embody responsibility, kindness, and hard work.
