It's never too late to recognize our change-makers in the Cairo-Durham Central School District!
Tashana James, a member of the class of 2024 at Cairo-Durham High School, has been recognized as the Student of the Month for December 2023. Tashana describes her efforts in school as one who tries her best and gives the most honest work back to her teachers based on the assignments given.
Tashana’s dedication to academic and athletic excellence is evident through her membership in the National Honor Society and Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field. She considers herself as someone who is quiet and kind. Tashana is one who consistently achieves outstanding grades in all her classes. Mrs. Jones enjoys having Tashana in her PreCalculus class and says that "her smile makes everyone's day and she is a true pleasure to teach."
Outside of school, Tashana hangs out with family, friends and enjoys going out to eat.
Beyond her academic pursuits and looking toward the future, Tashana aspires to go to college to study Kinesiology and pursue a career in the health science field. One interesting fact about Tashana is that she loves fishing and going to the ocean. Tashana would like to go to college somewhere in New York or Connecticut. Cairo-Durham High School is proud to honor students like Tashana, who set a good example for all of our students!
Here she is pictured with one of her favorite teachers, Mrs. Metzler.
