Students in Math 7 Foundations were diligent in their timed stations with Ms. Caskey, Ms. Mattice, Ms. Lee and Mr. Shufelt.
The Cairo-Durham High School Student Council will be hosting a holiday concert and turkey dinner for Cairo-Durham senior citizens, both free of charge, on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the high school.
The concert will start at 1 p.m. and the dinner will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In Mrs. Rath's 4th grade science class, students have been exploring the ever-changing Earth by creating models of the Earth's layers, identifying the tectonic plates and the "Ring of Fire".
Additionally, the scholars examined many different types of rocks, and experimented to determine how metamorphic rock is created.
CDMS held its first group Mentoring Event of the school year on Nov. 17!
Students and Mentors meet individually every week and the whole group meets monthly during the school year to play games, get to know each other and enjoy snacks together.

The Middle School P2 committee put up its "Turkey of Gratitude" just in time for Thanksgiving. Members stated what they are thankful for on the feathers of the turkey that can be found in the main hallway of the Middle School.
Congratulations to the Sophomore Class for winning the NHS food drive that concluded on Nov. 18. The high school collected, counted and delivered the donations to the food pantry after school following the end of the challenge.
Special shoutout to Haleon in Durham for their donation of 200 tubes of Sensodyne toothpaste!

Fifth grade is full of fun! Take a look at the highly interactive mock crime scene investigations that took place in Ms. Prinz's, Wagor's and Williams' classes, including some special appearances from Principal Stein, Assistant Principal Pollard and assistance from SRO Deputy Espel!

Check out the creative work in Ms. Kuhn's 4th Grade class as students elaborately built "longhouses" out of construction paper and their desks. The landscape included rivers, mountains and land in between, as well as families and a fire for warmth inside. Great job, students!

Sarah Hasbrook, Cairo-Durham Elementary School's Resource Room teacher, collaborated with Miss Wagor's class to teach an OG(Orton-Gillingham) lesson.
Two of Miss Wagor's students, Jaxon and Anthony, see Mrs. Hasbrook daily to work on phonics skills. This time, these two students became the co-teachers and had the opportunity to teach their class what they have learned so far this year! Way to go, Jaxon and Anthony!
