Ms. Rice and Mrs. Lopez's 3rd grade class recently worked on January Math centers to practice multiplication fluency!
Class of 2027: 8th Grade Transition Night is tomorrow night at 6 p.m.! We look forward to seeing students and their parents/guardians as we discuss the course selection process for 2023-2024, reviewing the process of transition from 8th to 9th grade, tips on being successful in High School and overview graduation/testing requirements.
Miss Prinz’s 5th grade class filled up their cookie compliment chart again, earning them a “Glow Day.” The entire day was full of review activities that were all glow-themed for students.
The morning started with students getting their very own ticket to enter the room inviting them to attend the glow party. Students then got to participate in math centers consisting of glow bowling, glow ring toss, glow tic-tac-toe, and glowing task cards. After the centers, students did a neon and glow-themed reading packet while they got to enjoy some of their very own glow gear and build some accessories.
Students ended the day with glow-themed jeopardy, which got pretty competitive! Everyone did so well that each student went home with a glowing prize to remember the day. Great job, students!

The chosen nominees will be honored at a Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Spring 2023 (date and location TBD).
Criteria:
Nominees must have contributed to the improvement of Cairo-Durham CSD with extensive service through: academics, athletics, coaching, teaching, administration, employment, volunteerism and/or community service.
Nominees can be past or present staff members, school administrators, Board of Education members, alumni and community members or organizations. (Please note that a former student nominee must be out of school for at least 10 years to be considered for induction into the Mustang Pride Hall of Fame.)
Some examples of extensive service/support include (but are not limited to):
Academics (e.g., teaching, tutoring).
Involvement in school athletics (e.g., coaches, officials, volunteers).
Mentoring.
Volunteer work/community service.
Community relations.

The Mustang Pride Hall of Fame was established in 2017 to recognize individuals and/or groups who have worked to support public education in the Cairo-Durham CSD community.
It was a great night for Cairo-Durham Basketball. The Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated Germantown 46-29, the Boys Varsity Basketball Team beat Germantown 44-34, and the Boys JV Basketball Team is on a two game winning streak with a win against Germantown as well, 54-42.

Varsity Bowling lost to a very tough Maple Hill bowling team Thursday night by a score of 5-0.
Varsity Wrestling lost to Maple Hill and Rensselaer tonight in one of their last matches of the season. Senior Adam Schlosser had an outstanding night once again winning his match by pinning his opponent. Varsity Volleyball lost a closely contested match to Catskill tonight by a score of 3-0.
