Mrs. Halstrom & Mrs. Busti’s first graders were eager to make bread for the Thanksgiving feast! Students added several ingredients and were able to watch the bread bake in the bread machine! The four loaves of bread were then shared amongst all of the first grade during a Thanksgiving feast!

On Nov. 21, Ms. Flubacher's 5th grade class had a Thanksgiving Feast! Students played Thanksgiving Bingo and were served a Thanksgiving Feast! The class shared what they were grateful for, their Thanksgiving traditions, and sat together as a class family. These types of activities not only celebrate the holiday, but also contribute to building a positive and supportive classroom environment.

The Thompson/Lopez and Whitbeck/Lopez classes worked for several weeks to prepare a special surprise party for Deputy Espel and Mac to show their gratitude for them. The students have been learning about and practicing gratitude for two weeks as part of the Positivity Project. The students made cards and/or letters and read them to Deputy Espel and Mac. They also made a large card that was presented by Natalie G. The students worked together to assemble a special "Mac Pack" for Mac as well! This personalized backpack was filled with toys, a personalized dog bowl, treats and grooming tools and presented by Milleth C. The students also presented Deput Espel and Mac with an all natural dog cake that they decorated themselves! Deputy Espel and Mac are so appreciated for all they do to keep the students and staff safe everyday. They always make everyone in the building feel happier!

As a Thanksgiving-themed project focusing on inferencing, students in Ms. Wagor's class employed riddles to make inferences, linking text with their background knowledge. The class transformed their turkeys into various representations—cartoon characters, objects, professions, or famous figures—to safeguard them from being part of a Thanksgiving dinner! During a gallery walk, students guessed each other's disguised turkeys, employing their inference skills without directly seeing the turkeys drawn by their classmates. Great job, class!
