Wrestling update: Myers finished in 3rd place in states!
Myers lost to No. 1 seed Isabella Satalino in the semifinals, 11-1. In Wrestlebacks, she defeated Talulah Williams-Johnson by injury default and beat No. 2 seed Brooke-Lynn Murray, 8-6, to finish in third place overall in the tournament.
Cairo-Durham's Vivienne Myers competed in the inaugural New York State Girls Wrestling Championships today. She won her first two matches - one by pin in 40 seconds and the other by a 12-6 decision. Making Cairo-Durham history, she is the second wrestler, and the first female wrestler, that has made it to states! Congrats Vivienne!
Yesterday, her fellow students cheered her on and gave her a fantastic sendoff! Watch a video of it here: https://youtube.com/shorts/W8P87sDra3Y?feature=share

Dear Cairo-Durham CSD Families,
As you know, school is currently closed for Winter Break (Feb. 17- 21). The District has been made aware of a glitch in our absence tracking system that is sending “your student is absent today” robocalls to parents of high school students. This is simply a glitch and no action is needed from you. If you get a communication along those lines, please disregard it. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday (Feb. 24).
Sincerely,
Cairo-Durham CSD
This past Thursday night, the seniors playing Varsity Boys Volleyball were celebrated. Mr. Hagan discussed each senior and celebrated each of them individually and as a team.
The crowd was electric and cheered the seniors and the entire CD Mustangs team through an exciting 5 sets. In the end, the game did not fall the Mustangs way but you could see how much fun this team had delivering such a hard-fought battle.
Thank you again Augie Freemann for the awesome Volleyball metal hanger for the seniors and to the families for donating items for their gift buckets.

Happy Presidents' Day!

Reminder: Cairo-Durham schools will be closed this week, Feb. 17-21, due to Presidents Day and the Winter Break. We look forward to seeing you back in school on Monday, Feb. 24!

We'd like to wish Deputy Espel and Deputy Rivera a Happy (early) School Resource Officer Appreciation Day! We are so lucky to have you as part of our school community. Thank you for all you do, each and every day!!

Last night was the last game of the year for the Boys Varsity Volleyball Team versus Coxsackie Athens. The boys lost a close match by a score of 3-2 and before the game we celebrated the 6 seniors that will be graduating this year. We wish our seniors the best of luck in their future endeavors.
The Mustangs closed out their season this week with two hard-fought battles, celebrating their seniors along the way.
Tuesday night was all about Tenley, Kenzie, and Margo, as the team honored their three seniors before tipping off against the Hudson Bluehawks. The game was a tight, physical matchup from start to finish. The Mustangs moved the ball well and played tough defense, keeping it competitive all the way through. Despite their hustle, they couldn’t quite close the gap, falling by eight in the end.

Thursday brought another tough test as the Mustangs hosted state-ranked Maple Hill. The Wildcats' press caused some early struggles, but after halftime, the Mustangs found a rhythm and started getting buckets. While the comeback effort fell short, the team showed resilience and fight to the very end.
