Dear Parents/Guardians of current 8th Graders at Cairo-Durham Middle School:
Tech Valley High School, in Albany, New York, is a public high school built on the principles of project-based learning and collaboration. Located on the campus of the Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, TVHS is uniquely situated to provide access to technology resources and partnerships that students need to excel in the global economy. The school partners with business leaders throughout the region to incorporate true-to-life experiences into student learning.
These events give interested students and their families a chance to learn about the school’s innovative, science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum and look at the challenges and rewards a Tech Valley High education can offer.
Although we do not currently have any slots available for the 2024-2025 school year, we will still be conducting the recruitment process to generate a WAIT LIST should an open slot become available. Eighth graders need to meet the following criteria:
Currently, be enrolled in school and on track to meet all requirements for successful completion of their 8th grade year.
Meet with Mrs. Staiger and a parent/guardian to discuss the application process.
Attend a parent-student virtual or in-person information session before filling out the application. Complete the application form and submit it to Mrs. Staiger in the Student Services Center by Friday, March 8, 2024.
