As shared in our previous reopening update, our goal is to return all students to in-person learning this September. We also understand that alternate plans may be necessary on a case-by-case basis for students who require remote learning due to significant medical concerns.
If your child is medically vulnerable with documentation from a healthcare provider, you may request a virtual learning program for the 2021-22 school year. Please note that a commitment to remain in remote instruction must be made for the entire 2021-22 school year. Remote instruction will not be provided by Cairo-Durham faculty, but will be provided through BOCES, Northeastern Regional Information Center (NERIC), or another alternate online platform depending on grade level and availability.
Any parent or guardian who believes their child will be unable to return to school for in-person learning due to an approved medical exemption must complete this form and submit proper medical documentation by Wednesday, August 25th. Medical documentation from your healthcare provider should be sent to the District Office as soon as possible, either by email to ncolon@cairodurham.org or by fax to 518-622-9566. Medical documentation will be reviewed by the District’s medical director for final approval.
